
๐ Meet our new PE & Health Teacher and High School Baseball Head Coach, Tyler Shalbot! Hereโs what Coach Shalbot says about himself:
โพ๏ธ I am a coach who loves the game of baseball and wants my players to have a great experience playing the game. I want them to make memories that will last a lifetime and learn life skills through the game.
โพ๏ธ I spent the last 13 years coaching baseball. 3 years as an assistant coach at Eugene(82-26), 7 years as a head coach at Vienna High School, and the last 3 years at Waynesville High School. During that time as a head coach, I compiled a record of 202 wins and 124 losses including 5 conference championships, 1 district title (1st in 32 years at Vienna), and set the school record for wins 4 times. Also, Iโve had 20 players go onto play college baseball.
โ๏ธ During my 13 years in education, I have taught K-12 Physical Education, Weight Training, Outdoor Recreation, Archery, Health, have been an assistant basketball coach,and was the Athletic Director at Vienna High School.
๐ Graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, MO (2008) with a bachelors degree in Education with a concentration in Physical Education. I played 4 years of college baseball, and I graduated from William Woods University (2016) with a Masters degree in Educational Administration. I am a high school graduate of Iberia R-V (2004).
โฉ I am married to Amanda Shalbot who is a second grade teacher in the Waynesville School District, and I have 4 kids Maci (12), Emmy (9), James (3), and Henry (5 months).
โ๏ธ I love spending time with my family, watching sports, hunting, and playing cornhole.

4th and 5th graders had a great time learning about the Civil War at Wilsonโs Creek National Battlefield. #platorv





Middle school students had a wonderful time at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield today. They learned a lot of historical information from presenters on the historical significance of the Ray House, Civil War medicine, and the common soldier. #platorv





โถ๏ธ COMC Update:
We have just received the COMC Mobile Medical Unit schedule, from July - December 2022. An image of the schedule is attached to this post.
COMC will be in Plato on July 11-14; August 8 - 11; September 5 - 8; October 10 - 13; November 7 - 10; and December 5 - 8. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. All ages are welcome.
An appointment is suggested by calling 877-406-2662. Please call with any questions.
COMC services include acute illness and infection; chronic disease checks; IMMUNIZATIONS; Wellness visits; SPORTS PHYSICALS; referrals for mammograms, etc.
The Mobile Medical Unit includes 2 exam rooms and an on-site laboratory.
Please bring a photo ID. Services are open to everyone.

Message from Coach Bilderback:
The cross country season is rapidly approaching, and we have some administrative tasks to complete. The school needs to submit a prospective roster of students to MSHSA. If your child is in either 6th or 7th grade or has never run cross country before, I need you to contact me with the students full name, date of birth and graduation year.
Soon we will begin open runs, but before our first competition on September 3rd at Bolivar, all athletes need a minimum of 14 practices. To participate in an official practice, and have it count, the student must have a current sports physical.
MSHSAA physicals are good for 2 years. See this link for the current MSHSAA physical form:

โพ๏ธ Iโm a outgoing dedicated to fundamentals coach who has coached all ages of kids in both baseball and softball.
โถ๏ธ Retired United States Army Officer with 25 years of experience.
โ๏ธ Spent 7 years working in the Special Education Department with the Waynesville School District. During that time, I Co-taught 5th grade Social Studies.
๐ Graduated from Ferrum College in Ferrum, Va. with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
โฉ Married to Lisa Arrington, and we have 3 adult kids and 1 son, Blake, whoโs a Jr in High School, and 1 granddaughter, Cassidee, who is in 1st grade.
๐โ๐ฆบ I absolutely love to be in the woods with my black lab, Gus, and I love to hunt when I have free time.

Kindergarteners had an amazing time at Montauk State Park. The staff, workers, and volunteers were very kid friendly and prepared for our students today. Today's trip was fun and extremely educational. #platorv #mostateparks





Part 1: First graders enjoyed their field trip to Montauk State Park today! Students learned about migration, fed fish in the hatchery, explored a mill from the late 1800s, and learned about owls. #platorv #mostateparks





Our new baseball coaches, Head Coach Shalbot and Assistant Coach Arrington, will have an open field on Thursday and Friday, June 16 & 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for incoming 9th graders and current high school athletes interested in playing baseball. This will be held at the high school baseball field.

Third graders enjoyed learning about safety today. Thank you to all the first responders who took the time to teach our students. #platorv





Weather permitting, the Plato R-V School District is planning on having a safety day on Friday, June 10. First Responders will be on campus speaking to students about their roles in the community and conducting guided tours of their emergency equipment.


6th grade completes PLTW biomedical stations with Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Meckem, Mr. Thomas, and Mrs. Gifford. They looked at slides in microscopes, took a lie detector test, took their vitals, took their fingerprints, and completed a virtual autopsy! #platorv





2nd graders enjoyed making bird feeders using 1- package of gelatin, 1/4 cup of hot water, and 3/4 cup of bird seeds! #platorv
